Hey /lit/, does anyone else have this set?
I've got the first edition and was wondering what you thought about it.

>> No.2940840

You have it in physical form or as a collection of ebooks?

Physical. I got a set from half price books as a christmas gift when I was 15.

My college library has those. They're pretty nice.

A library without them is not a library

They really are classy looking as hell.

Guess you've never seen really old books huh?

Those books. They are like the fancy americans copies of castles in Europe. Shiny plastic.

Looks pretty anglo-centric, but that's the worst I can say about it.

Where do you get these?

I'm tired of the east and their depressing apathetic philosophies for people without a will.

Yeah, thanks but no.

You can get the new edition from britannica's website but it's around a thousand dollars so I'd suggest looking around used and antique bookstores, I know half price books has a set for relatively cheap every once and a while.

This. They look like Disney.

Also, OP, collecting books is like priding yourself in your encyclopaedia these days. Nobody gives a fuck. You shouldn't either.

The 2nd edition isn't all that great but my 1st edition is leather bound and really nice. Maybe not on the same level as some antique books but still.

>> No.2941056

>>2941045
Yeah but no one gives a fuck about reading in general anymore so why bother worrying about it? I enjoy collecting books, that's all that matters to me.

have the 1st edition. I love it
