Decided to re-read this book.

First time I read I really enjoyed it because I found the characters compelling, the narrative fun and a nice undercurrent of humour under it all.

Re-reading it now and just struck by the weight of the piece. As I read it it feels like there are layers upon layers of deeper meaning behind it all that I can't possibly pick up on.

I know many here would consider this entry level but is there any love for this book?

I've read it twice as well, it's one of my favorite. It's fucking masterful.

my favorite.
it indeed has layers of deeper mening behind it all. That's what makes it so freaking awfully good. Without it it's just awfully good

My main motivation for brushing up on my Spanish (it was the first language I spoke, but I never took serious classes) is to be able to read that and Cervantes untranslated. Amazingly good.
