i'd rather not read more than one thing at once. i don't want to have to decide between three different books every time i sit down to read.

I used to, but it left me with a propensity towards abandoning books halfway in order to pick up the next book, and then repeating that process.

What do you think is wrong about reading one book at a time, one after the other? Just curious.

I think it's hard if not impossible because the internet (and 4cHAN in specific) has set the bar of stimulus so high, that we are unable to focus or keep attention for long enough before getting bored and looking for the next thing.

Think about it. You're in a thread for a few, maybe five, minutes and then get bored of it and move on to the next, and there's all those multiple threads on multiple tabs you have open. The whole internet is like that, engaging your imagination completely for about five minutes and then off you go.

I tell ya man, this internet...

Who's this 'we' you're talking about? I must know this to make sure to never have anything to do with 'you' in my life.
