Something's been bugging me about this book for the longest time, so I figured I'd ask here: How the fuck do you pronounce Pynchon?

>> No.2901812

It's pronounced pine-cone.

>> No.2901815

Google has the answer to this, just so you know.

Pin chawn.

>> No.2901821

>>2901809
pin-shaun

>> No.2901824

It's this.

>> No.2901831

I've honestly only heard these two slight variants:

Pin-chin.
Pin-chawn.

I've heard "Pin-chin" far more often.

As an aside, does anyone else think John Larroquette is full of shit when he says that Pynchon contacted "the John Larroquette Show" and started advising them about some of the references/material?

I can't imagine Pynchon would give a shit about some NBC taxi knock-off with someone as talentless as John Larroquette.

>> No.2901855

I pronounce it "PINCH-on".

>> No.2901856

>>2901855
or "PIN-chon", I should say.

>> No.2901858

on the Simpsons it was pronounced PINE-chon

Considering it's Pynchon in the simpsons I'd figure that's correct.
