I have to write a Friday the 13th script soon.

But what the fuck do you do with a character like Jason Voorhees?

Jason Voorhees possibilities/potential thread.

Have him symbolize the true nature of man and the victims be the 'corrupt society'.

Have him symbolize the corrupt nature of society with the fleeing victims being the last vestiges of mankind's humanity.

They build a college campus around the lake. Rich kids who got in based on mommy and daddy's money rather than their own actual ability are having to stay for summer classes in order to graduate on time. They have a project they have to do. Jason starts killing them off and instead of leaving they all independently have the idea of doing their project about Jason and the impact that imminent danger has on group dynamics.

Obviously it would be a comedy at that point.

Have him symbolise the inherent superiority of LGBT relationships.

since he drown he sees all humanity as a group of lust filed cowards.

Seeking to remove himself from the herd. Jason embraces the hunt. what it is to be a predator. Using fear and strength to control, separate and slaughter the herd.

His mother comes back, she was one crazy bitch.

Flashbacks of him drowning as a boy while he's saving a kid from drowning.

Make him shove someone's cell phone down their throat

I think I don't spend nearly enough time on /lit/.

Have Jason looking after the narrator of the story and kill of each of the victims until the true narrator sheds their color. Then throw in a cliche twist like schizophrenia. The narrator is actually Jason.

Have him actually play a goalie and team up with the Mighty Ducks for some old fashioned crime solving.
Then have him symbolize the ultimate failure of man when he gets traded to the Atlanta Thrashers.

Have him see the ghost of his dead father.

A wallstreet retreat on crystal lake in a posh new resort? Military and govt reps are there too. They spend the first quarter of the movie discussing how they are raping the world, fuck some prostitutes, and then jason goes to town. One good daughter of course, but throughout the movie she finds evidence of her fathers corruption. When faced with the choice of saving her father (and ending the evil of jason) she chooses to allow him to butcher her father and save the livelihoods of millions. She is chopped for her infidelity re: respect for parents

Jason was always against the partying teens her were supposed to be looking after the kids (thats why he drowned). You can't make him an occupy wall street dude.

He has the mind of a retarded animal kid, in part 2 he grunts and flips out a lot. He's like one of the kids in the Austrian dungeon

Jason attacks a rural Colorado movie theater during a screening of one of the previous Friday the 13th movies. Everyone assumes it's just a fan of the series in a really elaborate costume. By the end of the film, the viewers in the theater are happier dead because they don't have to watch the rest of the shitty movie. Jason commits suicide due to extreme sexual frustration.

Add another serial killer, and have Jason saving some of the victims, not saving others, and have the audience unable to figure out why Jason is helping this girl until the end, when her importance is revealed.
