>Across five related studies, researchers Matthias Forstmann, Pascal Burgmer, and Thomas Mussweiler of the University of Cologne, Germany, found that people primed with dualist beliefs had more reckless attitudes toward health and exercise, and also preferred (and ate) a less healthy diet than those who were primed with physicalist beliefs.

>Overall, the findings from the five studies provide converging evidence demonstrating that mind-body dualism has a noticeable impact on people's health-related attitudes and behaviors. Specifically, these findings suggest that dualistic beliefs decrease the likelihood of engaging in healthy behavior.

Don't bother, dualists can't comprehend science-y stuff, they get confused.

I mean non-dualists. People who believe everything is part of one big thing. Spinoza, Taoist philosophy, Buddhism, etc.

>Someone who assumes our senses are accurate representations of reality.

You mean someone who thinks our senses are limitless in their capacity to understand the universe?

I'm not sure if I really understand your meaning as it's completely obvious to everyone that our senses have limits (like not being able to see UV light)

>Naïve realism, also known as direct realism or common sense realism, is a philosophy of mind rooted in a theory of perception that claims that the senses provide us with direct awareness of the external world. In contrast, some forms of idealism assert that no world exists apart from mind-dependent ideas and some forms of skepticism say we cannot trust our senses. The realist view is that objects are composed of matter, occupy space and have properties, such as size, shape, texture, smell, taste and colour, that are usually perceived correctly. We perceive them as they really are. Objects obey the laws of physics and retain all their properties whether or not there is anyone to observe them.

>Naïve realism is known as direct as against indirect or representative realism when its arguments are developed to counter the latter position, also known as epistemological dualism; that our conscious experience is not of the real world but of an internal representation of the world.

Thats monist. Also Buddhism isnt monist. Monist/Nondual are similar but nondual has the option of not believing everything is one. Whereas monist believes everything is one. The difference is crucial

It's often easier to think of non-dualism as holism. It's really just anything that says "You see this boundary between two things? That's not real".

So dualist(both god and us are real) vs monism(avdaita(only god/brahma is real everything else is illusion/part of god/brahma)) vs nondual(buddhist emptiness/interdependence)?
