>Prospero's Books

Anyone seen Peter Greenaway's take on Shakespeare's The Tempest?

Just watched the whole thing, and I must I've never seen anything as magical and mentally evocative before.

Hell, Ariel is a naked boy eternally pissing on a swing. What's not to love?

John Gielgud is Prospero. And a fine one at that.

Hilariously pretentious.

"Magical"ly ridiculous.

Peter Greenaway is the epitome of cinematic pretension.

I love Peter Greenaway because he's so pretentious. Pretentiousness is the last taboo in Britain.
