I can't bring myself to read fiction anymore. I don't have the patience to get through the first chapter. I can only read non-fiction and fact based writing. What the fuck?

variety is the spice of life

instead of reading the fiction you are used to reading, read something you normally wouldn't read

you know how amazon has a "suggested reading" list from customers who like what you like...well read the opposite of that

Mix it up. I usually go from a huge philosophical text or whatever to fiction. I'd go bored if I just read non-fiction.

Maybe read classic fiction; in my opinion it's usually far more interesting than the modern drivel most authors craft today.
