He's not a difficult author so you could start with 1984, though I do think Down and Out in Paris and London is underrated.

"Lion and The Unicorn" is by far my favorite, it kind of reads like something written by Debord. Ah, and "The Hanging" is alright, but is one of his earlier works. I also liked Homage to Catalonia for the historical context.
