Bump because, considering all the philosophising in /lit/, somebody must have read this.

And here I thought we could have an interesting discussion about some new-ish philosophy that builds on Foucault, Zizek et al.

The thing is, I am still struggling with the first wave of post-structuralism. I don't need Zizek going all Lacanian on me, or for goodness' sake Hegel... as if the Young Hegelians never happened... seriously the generation Zizek/Butler/Laclau pisses me off enough that I don't have any leftover enthusiasm to consider reading their adepts.

That being said, I had a look at some Agamben once and it looked interesting, though I'm not sure in how far it is just old wine in new skins (which is my suspicion regarding most *new* philosophy like that, including Badiou and what appears to be his atavistic idealism).

Interesting thread but way above my head. Someone care to explain that ^ post? What is post-structuralism? What does it mean to "go Lacanian"? Why does "Generation Z/B/L" piss him off? And what does OP's book bring to the table?

If you've never heard of post-structuralism, I can't really help you in a few short sentences. It is basically the leading trend in Continental Philosophy since the 60s and has been clogging anglophone humanities deparments ever since.
