I have progressive amnesia and athazagoraphobia. What's the point of reading? I'll forget everything in a couple of years or so..

And then you can read it again.

Why are you so concerned about the past?
Just enjoy the present.

I heard some pretentious wanker of a professor say before that he would give anything to be able to read a certain classic book with fresh eyes for the first time again.

So, think about it like that, maybe. You could read [insert favorite classic] every day anew!

>being able to reread things as though they were new

This is a gift, man!

>> No.2779363

first time you read it, read it thoroughly. take notes in margins or on paper. think about it and savour it. Refer back to notes later on to remind yourself how much you loved it/what you thought about it.

I have the reading comprehension of an elementary school child

Trying to make sense out of what I'm reading is part of the fun

Athazagoraphobia is a living hell. I have it too.
Fuck our lives.

What is PROGRESSIVE amnesia and how would I know if I have it?

I have a few memories from when I was one years old but I remember what happened in a intiuve/verbal way and have to see it in a third person way.
>and no my parents never told me of these memories

I'm not sick and I can't even remember what are about my favourite books after having read them a few years ago... I have to admit it, I have a terrible memory when it comes to books and films. But hey... I'm happy anyway, it's good to rediscover your favourite books and find out why they were so good.
