Whats a good book about teenagers getting high? I need to study one so my "high scenes" don't come off cliched as fuck. I'm mainly talking hallucinogens here (not weed) but anything goes I guess.

Yeah cunt, I've done heaps of them and the whole novel is influenced by them. My request is more about learning how to convincingly pace a story without it being "and then they got in the car. And then they did this. And then they got high." I suppose analysing any novel could help with this but I feel like something with relevant subject matter makes it that much easier.

Does it need to be teenagers? Read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, I'm actually reading it again now, the descriptions of the effects of all the drugs they take are just amazing, plus it's a fucking hilarious book.

Though it is obvious, fear and loathing does a good job, though ive never hallucinated to the point where i saw lizards and bats and shit. Maybe the i have only had weak shit, no doubt HST had access to superior product.
I cant think of too many books that ive read that have too much drug use in them.
The part in Steppenwolf where he goes to the theater.
Island by Huxley has a decent mushroom trip in it. Some of this other works would be good as well, if you havent already read them.
Maybe some non fiction stuff, by people like Terrence Mckenna,Timothy Leary. Havent read anything by them myself. but they are well versed .

I love Terence Mckenna. If anyone's interested in him, I suggest you check out his lectures. He's a decent writer, knowledgeable and what not, but his lectures are very entertaining.

I also suggest you try a small dosage of shrooms. They're pretty mellow and safe. Also smoke a huge amount of weed in one sitting. This should give you something to work off of.
