How are you holding the book. Hold with a thumb at the bottom corner of each page like a book is meant to be held, and this isn't a problem. Oh wait, you probably lay it flat on the ground like a total pleb, don't you?

>uncomfortable to sit on grass
1. You get used to it. Your legs are just sensitive to that thing because you've never done it.

Seriously, reading in nature is the only way to read a lot of books, like Thoreau, London, or Whitman. You'll find that they go from more than just good prose, to a truly spiritual, life changing experience if read outside.

i made a thread a lot like this one, after a woefully misguided attempt to read out on a pretty bench in the forest.

so this area is in the shade, the effect of which is that the shadows of leaves are constantly moving about on the page. in parts of the book that the sun hits, they're blindingly bright; makes it difficult to read the parts in shadow, which look almost uniformly black.

and then there's the bugs & spiders. daddy long-legs sitting in a crevice the entire time, just making me feel unsettled. occasionally ants, other bugs, crawling on the bench/crawling on me.

what a terrible mistake that way.

Completely possible, it'd just take a fuck-tonne of effort and time, and we'd basically have to completely remake how people treat each other.

> it'd just take a fuck-tonne of effort and time
It would take an incredibly oppressive dictatorship. You would have to enforce one set of ideals and imprison any freethinking individuals with innovative ideas.

We have a functional system (albeit not fair) of global hierarchy, whereby minerals are mined in Africa for pennies, sent to Asia for manufacture and consumed by the west. If there was a global equality this system would collapse and we would have to have a tyrannical socialist system which would result in economic collapse.

Further more can you really see Somalia sitting down for a coffee with Japan. Or an Amazonian tribe sharing recipes with a Lithuanian town; all in one language. All equal members with a unified currency of an invariable value? The world is to diverse.

Eh, a one world government would be more sufficient for peace than a "world culture", though the former could possibly accelerate something like the latter.

>remake how people treat each other.

I don't agree that it's impossible, like the other anon is saying, but when you enter into the realm of "remake how people behave" aren't you kind of abandoning the peace platform or, at the very least, taking it to authoritarian levels?

You guys are talking like there are clear and distinct cultures but in reality everything is multicultural, it's just that people are still in denial. We don't need a world culture, but rather we need to recognize and accept the fact of multiculturalism.

Fine, if no global equality then death to humanity.
only death and destruction awaits humanity now, too evil for your own good.
death to humanity, what's wrong with oppression? cant handle not being allowed to hate another for stupid differences?

I think it's inevitable, unless we blow ourselves up first.

It would probably be less centralized than you think, if only due to the increasing decentralization of opinion and power of mass communications like the internet (which is on the verge of becoming almost impossible to censor/repress).

>implying people of all over the world aren't for example speaking to each other on this very website and partake in a share of culture that is very much globalised

We are nearing a form of post-geographical society. Different cultures are nearing closer to each other. We also move all over the world. We are sharing values more than ever. I have this very week, as a Dutchman, sat down for coffee with a Lithuanian, two Turks, an Iranian, an Afghan, a Hungarian, a Pole, a Greek, an Indonesian and a Filipino. There's many more kinds of people that I encounter. And that's not even counting the people that I speak to online. We are truly coming nearer to one another, and recognising that we all want pretty much want roughly the same things.

It is mostly a misunderstanding that people differ that much from one another. Sure, there might be cultural differences. But we always are more alike than different. We are all humans with roughly the same needs. And it is very well possible to work together to achieve those needs without bothering to meddle with each others more specific demands.

Even if many of us are not hedonists, we can all agree that we all dislike to suffer and enjoy what is pleasant. We can also see that our lives are becoming more and more interconnected, and therefore we fare increasingly better when looking out for the welfare of others. We are nearing some form of cosmopolitanism. It is inevitable. The only choice that we have, much like someone travelling downriver, is how to steer clear of the rocks.

but we enjoy seeing others suffer and suffer seeing others enjoy, therefor communist solidarity is still the ideal solution.

wow how fucking brainwashed are you?

There is no such fucking thing as "post-geographical"
what we as whites are doing is FORFEITING OUR HOMELANDS

You'll never see any of these immigrants follow us in this lunacy because they can see for themselves how fucking retarded it is.

>But we always are more alike than different.
Except where those differences pose IRREPARABLE CONFLICTS, of course the liberals like yourself solve the conflicts by surrendering and compromising at every point.

Well, you liberals have your fantasies, maybe one day you will look at the society you have created and regret your actions, maybe not.
I know liberals clap when they think about a future where they themselves have been genocided or ethnically cleansed.

Look at the inherent contradictions in your own nonsense.
You want people to care about others yet you want to destroy all the bonds that tie people together, such as religion, family, community, nationalism, patriotism, etc.
Why would i give a penny to a stranger? Why would i ever help them out?

Not everyone is a filthy xenophile like yourself.

>We are truly coming nearer to one another, and recognising that we all want pretty much want roughly the same things.
This is the key point where you shoot yourself in the foot, we all want the same things THEREFORE THERE IS COMPETITION OVER IT. We must organize to get the things we want, and to ensure a steady supply, or we will perish.
