I cannot stand it either, it's like I don't really get it like I was supposed too, there must be something to it for that many people to like it.

I love books, but it wasn't always so, I think when I was 16 I found a book that I really liked that opened my mind to it and made be discover /lit/, so maybe I haven't found the right poetry yet.

Yes, OP. I read mostly only poetry and it's very awkward because I'm starting grad school for literature in the fall. I don't really like novels much at all.

I prefer poetry greatly.

Also, Whitman is one of my favorites. I'm setting beside about a dozen books on him that I own.
