Gonna start reading Sailing Alone Around the World since it was recommended to me and then I found out my grandmother had it.

Should I read the book in my pic?
A youtuber recommended the movie adaption, which is American, but the book is obviously Japanese. Which one is better, for anyone that's seen or read it.

Hm...I wonder what the most common answer for movie vs. book preferences would be for a literature board...

Quite frankly I would slap anyone who recommends a film adaptation of a book over the actual book itself.
If the film is better then it is not true to the book, hence ought to not to be considered an adaptation in the first place.

Yes. Yes.

The reason I asked is because the book and movie are more drastically different than most adaptations.
Book takes place in Japan, Movie America.
