Those aren't really that bad, compared with the kind of stuff that Baen put on their covers.

Tolkien books with movie covers, holy fucking shit rofl.

>how do you guys cover horrible book covers?
I open them in Calibre and switch the cover images to whatever I want. There's an autodownload cover function in Stanza, too.

With the Penguin Edition covers.

Yo listen up here's a story
About a little guy who lives in an orange world
And all day and all night and everything he sees is orange like him, inside and outside
Orange house with an orange window, an orange corvette
And everything's orange for him and himself and everybody around
Cause he ain't got nobody to listen to...

I'M ORANGE, DA BA DEE DA BA DA
DA BA DEE DA BA DA
DA BA DEE DA BA DA

I have an orange shelf with orange book covers
Orange is the color of all that I read
Orange are the Yeats and all the Browns are too
I have some Pynchon, and he's orange too
Orange are the authors that I flaunt around
Orange like Cormac, its in and outside
Orange the words I read and words I think
Orange the discounts, cause I am so cheap

I'M ORANGE, DA BA DEE DA BA DA
DA BA DEE DA BA DA
DA BA DEE DA BA DA

If I think the cover is that bad I'd search for a different or older edition with a less shit cover.

This is the biggest pain when ordering from Amazon.

(Apart from when some moron sent me some pop fiction with 'Tempest' in the title instead of 'The Tempest'. You know, by Shakespeare? Maybe you've heard of it? Quite hard to forget.)

My copy of Sense and Sensibility is tiny and almost pink. I'm pretty sure it's part of one of those collections you see in Waterstones, which is a shame.

Is it wrong that I usually spring for the good looking covers despite the fact that it costs more? I'll also hold out for boxed sets of series to have a consistent cover series rather than different editions.

I don't buy books with horrible covers. I'll either buy an older edition or wait for a newer one.

The only I'm generally disgusted with are movie tie-in covers, though. The books I'm interested in normally aren't that bad (e.g., no genre fiction).

I don't always read Cracked, but when I do is for things like this:

I hate them too, and I'm American. My cover of the Lies of Locke Lamora is terrible. It looks like some guy on a romance cover with a rapier staring out onto a glowing castle that looks like it was ripped straight from a Disney movie.
British covers are so much better. Pic related, the superior cover that I was too lazy to order. Simple, tey elegant.
