I went to a fair and picked these up. All look pretty good except the one on the bottom. I read a little of it and it was pretty boring. Hunger Games was good, though.

Have you opened any of them up yet? Were you actively looking for any of those? Just curious bout your thoughts/recommendations.

As for me, latest library trip:
- Bros K. -- Been telling myself I'd pick it up, and now I have. So far Dostoevsky has never failed to make me lol, so I'm hoping the trend will keep up.
- Feast of Bones -- Picked it up randomly while in the B's, looked interestin'. Set in Russia and Afghanistan from a soviet soldier's POV. Authored by an American soldier with some degrees in military history and Russian history. mite b cool, haven't read more than a paragraph yet though.
- A Good Man in Africa -- Again a random grab from the B's. I've read the first two chapters so far and it's funny as hell.
- Some Spanish reader to improve my Spanish and get a smattering of Spanish lit authors, idk.
- Borges because I like his poetry and you guys like him, so if I read more of him we can like him together. And the library of babel sounds rad. In English because my library doesn't have much Borges in Spanish (not that I've found yet, anyway, besides poetry)

You guys got some good finds. Here is my last one.

Lovely Bones - really good
Princess Academy - definitely the best book of the lot
SparkNotes Shakespeare 101 - really cool. retells his stories without all the boring parts.
Chronicles of Narnia - Aslan is probably the best literary character of all time. Love these. 9/10
Sounds of the Fury - Petty boring actually, and part of it seemed like it was written by a retard. 3/10

Oh man meant to delete the image but I accidentally the whole post.

Anyway I am taking this thread seriously. I want to talk about books...

Just Googled me up some Princess Academy. Sounds pretty shit compared to Protector of the Small.

Well, I had no table space to put them on, and was using a laptop to take the picture. Nonetheless that illustration is spot on. And afterwards I realized that since I made a list, there was really no point in adding a picture.

I'm sorry you had to see this, /lit/.

OP here,

Genuinely don't get the hate. Are you snarky because I did well or because these titles aren't esoteric enough for you?
