what reading aids do you use to help concentrate, focus and enjoy reading more?

>ritalin

>> No.2696254

music

>> No.2696260

Copious amounts of tea. I'm drinking some now.

>> No.2696261

Where the fuck would you buy that shit?

>> No.2696264

Coffee, cigarettes, weed

>> No.2696270

Not to highjack OP's thread but how can I improve my concentration span?

Take short breaks every 3/4 of an hour, while you still want to do the thing.
Eat more healthy foods, exercise.
Ritalin

Not into the idea of drugs I don't need and I don't know where to get it. I already do breaks (on one now). Thanks though

>> No.2696291

If you have to eat Ritalin to enjoy reading, you should find a new hobby

>> No.2696294

>>2696291
No one said anything about finding enjoyment that isn't there, we're talking about accentuating the enjoyment.

you should do your own research and not trust random anon recommendations, you can get it online easily after a days research, there are many forums where people review such sites and talk about their legitimacy and history and if their products are legit

i used a place called "midnight moon", but this was a year ago, i don't know if they're still running or reliable

and also ritalin for light reading is kind of a waste of $$, but for studying its amazing and worth it

>> No.2696348

Good lighting and a quiet (but not too quiet) reading space are all I need.

You prefer sound? I need to read in silence, essentially, or I won't get really deep into the book.

>> No.2696366

I'm not talking about music or TV on in the background. The sound of life outside my window for instance. If the room is too quiet I tend to get distracted because of how quiet the room is.

>> No.2696384

Soft light, a comfortable chair, and some kind of background noise that keeps the room from being silent while not being distracting.

>> No.2696410

Go to a library.

>> No.2696418

White Noise
Shit's awesome

I have reading albums. For example:

Gas - Pop
Julianna Barwick - The Magic Place
Infinite Body - Carve Out the Face of My God
Inoyama Land - Danzindan Pojidon
The less melodic Grouper stuff eq Dream Loss, WIDE, Way Their Crept

>> No.2696607

I can make any music in to reading music. If i've heard an album enough times to know it inside and out i can listen to it while i read. Something with a nice even beat and a nice tempo is great, keeps the speed up on the reading.

Other than that i need to finish everything i have to do to be able to relax my mind. If i have something i need to work on i cant stop thinking about it.
This is why i dont read much other than on summer break..

>> No.2696700

I can't take a book seriously on stimulants. Not to mention Ritalin makes me feel like killing myself.

that sucks, it makes me feel great

maybe u took too much
