Hey /lit/, what is your favourite bible passage?

Mine would have to be

"Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, render unto God the things which are God's."

>> No.2694465

The passage would be worth pondering if god existed.

SO BRAVE

This thread actually has a lot a potential (it's too bad I'm not too acquainted with the bible).

So I'll offer a substitution: A quote from Rubayyat of Omar Khayaam.

Tis all a chequer-board of nights and days
Where destiny with men for pieces plays:
Hither and thither moves, and mates, and slays,
And one by one back in the closet lays.
---Poem 49, Omar Khayaam (first edition)(translated by Edward Fitzegerald)

It has a Zoroastrian vibe to it, I love it.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Can't you at least appreciate Jesus as a philosopher?

My personal favorite:

"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."

Revelation 22:15

What about these passages appeals to you guys? Truly interesting passages are the ones you have to ponder.

If you are like a lot of ignorants and using these to jab at Christianity and Christians. Then understand that those rules applied under Abraham/Gods covenant. Not under the New Covenant with Jesus.

Matthew 26 6:11
About how some girl pours perfume on Jesus' face, and his disciples got pissed about her wasting shit, and then how Jesus said something like
>she's doing something good, don't hate her for doing something good

I like how it fits in the idea that one should not perform the best possible action, as long as it's a good action. Quite the opposite to utilitarianism.
