Slaughterhouse 5 COULD work but would lose most of its charm. Same thing with Breakfast for Champions.
Oddly enough both of those were turned into shitty movies.

Thats the problem with adapting Vonnegut books, they are great not due to what they are about, but how they are told. The writing is just great, and while a great story can transfer to the screen, great writing does not.
