Good morning, /lit/,

What is the funniest book you have ever read? Mine's Catch 22.

>> No.2661192

Pride and Prejudice, not even joking. If you go in thinking that it's a romance you will likely be bored. If you go in thinking it's a satiric comedy, you are much more likely to enjoy yourself.

American Psycho is pretty funny sometimes.

but yes, Catch-22 is just awesome

If you were raised in a christian household this might be funny to you:

>The story of Jesus, the teenage years
>travels to the Orient
>becomes a bodhisattva
>fights a demon spawn in Tibet(?)
can't recall anything else right now, I should read it again

If I like Sayonara Zetsuboi Sensei, will I like Catch 22?

The War with the Newts was sodding hilarious.

>From now on I'm thinking only of me.
>But, Yossarian, suppose everyone felt that way.
>Then I'd be a damned fool to feel any other way, wouldn't I?
Still one of my favourite quotes. I need to read that thing again some time.

It's funny if you weren't raised in christian household. I think the first part I started laughing at was where Jesus was letting his little brother bash a lizards head in and then he'd stick it in his mouth and revive it. I don't think I was ever inclined to stop.

Un-/lit/ as hell, but I enjoyed that book quite a lot. Apart from the lazy deus-ex machina.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed A Confederacy of Dunces or Catch-22, which would be the #2 and 3 on my list, by the way.
Christopher Moore has a lot of bizarrely funny books. A Dirty Job is probably my favorite over Lamb, though.
