How many books do you read at anyone time /lit/? I tend to get bored with a book if it's the only one I'm reading if it's too heavy of material so I tend to read several at once.

I'm currently
-almost done with Blood Meridian
-almost a third of the way into A Short History of Nearly Everything
-just started on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
-thinking about finally starting in on Faulkner

I've found that it only works so long as you force yourself to read at least a chapter of each one every day along with the title in my primary focus at the moment.

I split time between a poetry collection, a short story collection, a play and a novel. Whichever I feel like, I read. It means I read more than I would if I didn't do that.

i'm in the last quarter of Brothers K but i'm taking a break to read Thomas Paine's works.

So I would say 2 or 3 depending on how lengthy they are.

I usually have 2 or 3 books going at once, with an emphasis on one of them

When I was younger I often had 3 or 4 going at a time. Now that I'm older only one at a time.
