A good taste in music is not always indicative of intelligence or good taste in anything else
But I'd theorize that a good taste in literature may be indicative of good taste of music, or otherwise
So, what are some of /lit/'s favorite albums?

I think conceptually, they took a wrong turn.

The album's first half is much less about beat and more about the interaction of symphonic qualities, harmony, melody, et al. So while you have dubby stuff on Djed and beat driven melancholia on TNT, rhythmically they went in a strange direction. I guess it only paid off on three or four songs, and the rest they lacked enough conceptual inspiration to carry it through so kinda mixed the styles amateurishly.

>Schubert-Quintet in C, a favourite of Wittgenstein's
Have you read Culture and Value? He fucking hated Mahler. Or at least his said his music was worthless, which coming from someone as restrained as Wittgenstein is saying a lot.

Live At Folsom Prison is always great.
Avatar by Comet On Fire is good, too.
Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Bireli Lagrene are great jazz guitarists that I've listened to for a while.

>good taste

a) Aesthetic facts exist; there is such a thing as "good taste". Facts can be expressed mathematically. Therefore, once aesthetic facts are understood, art can be automated. Humans are no longer necessary, capitalism wins, entropy reigns.

b) There are no aesthetic facts. Chaos reigns.

Mahler really fucks with some people for some reason, I think it's because he subverts the traditional classical modes in such a non-programmatic way, it's like a double fuckery. Symphony 8 and 10 have their moments for me, even though modernism is increasingly losing its appeal for me.
