I got to meet Spider Robinson today, and I gotta say it was probably the highlight of my life. Have you guys ever gotten the chance to meet your favourite author? Share your experiences?

OMG you lucky bastard. Love Spider. I'd love to meet him someday.

The only one of my favorite authors I've met is Robert Jordan. I got a book signed by him when I was about 12. I'm glad I got to meet him before he died. Generally though I never really try to get into contact with authors I really like. Because I feel like... they have enough going on, why do they want to hear from my dumb ass?

You'd just mispronounce his name, anyway.

I write emails with my favorite philosopher. We have been friends for a couple of years.

You should have killed him. Then you would have been a permanent part of his life and legacy.

Yeah, no. Favorite author is Pynchon.

Not that guy, but now I've made sure I can so I don't look like a tool. Thanks.
