Abracadabra was used by the Romans, it was a triangle like the one on the shirt but with Latin script, and it was engraved onto amulets and worn in order to gain beneficial spirits or ward off bad ones. It was adopted by the Arabs (like many Roman traditions) later on.

Then some guy thought it would make a cool design and made this shirt.
