I've been told I write like a genius. I know that's not true though, it's just that I have an exceptional vocabulary and am extremely articulate.

This doesn't really make sense, unless you have some sort of aphasia. Ideally, your understanding of language would be proportional to your ability to articulate yourself in that same language, not have a huge disparity.
