I don't read alot, but i'm trying to change that, i feel gaming and my hate has prevented me from seeing the world
actually prefer non-fiction, reading indie news, listening to indie hip-op, etc.

Anyways, one of the people i listen to recommended Authur C Clarke.

I've started to read space odyssey 2001, don't spoil any for me.

Are there any other authors that deal with humanity: rise and fall and various other moral implications, could be science related or not.

I feel that as i read deeper into space odyssey that Hal and this mysterious monolith presents our generation with some serious questions and our pursuit for answers, i guess i like that.

Shameless self bump

what about Kurt Vonnegut, I seen from Wikipedia that he deals with some critical questions poses humanity. Anyone have any experience with any of these authors?

He does look like a writer. Specifically, this one.

I know what you mean. He looks like a 1950's gimmick comic. Like, all his bits involve using a cello or something.

Hey, this might just be because I am literally reading this right now, but you could try the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. Contained therein you will find topics that might interest you.

Fucken Twain.

obviously one of the greatest american writer. even if his racism toward indians was pretty deep.

Cat's Cradle, Sirens of Titan, Breakfast of Champions, Bluebeard, Welcome to the Monkey House... all great stuff

Vonnegut sucks. Just another whinging liberal who mistakes polemicism for satire.

Labels used by the superior to confuse the feeble

we're all wanting to learn without labeling authors, if everyone recommends him, i shall listen.

one of the things that got me into reading was a book i got. I was fascinated to have a brief historical lesson in science as i think that topics is often under-looked for our maybe unaided answers in life or the future to come

Thanks, I find it hard to shake the raw genius talent of eyedea

I've actually been listening to alot of sole, as i can relate alot to what he does.

I'm just trying to move on with my life, listen to good people. I practically moved my life, lost alot of friends. I'm just really looking for solitude. While i'm new to /lit/ and haven't read much in my life, that's slowly changing. I'm glad to be welcomed as other boards seem to want to insult others first

well don't get too comfortable, you fucking idiot

Kidding, kidding. But there are a lot of douches on /lit/ like anywhere else. I can understand you wanting to escape negativity and become more open minded though. I wish I was less of a hermit so I could find some positive but not inane people to surround myself with
