Are you ever afraid of writing on /lit/ because some troll might ruin the ending of a book for you?

I'm reading two books currently which I really want to discuss. I'm concerned about the /lit/ trolls. I'm being beta, but these books are quality!

You must be some fat American girl if you think that knowing the ending of the book ruins the book.

Grow a fucking pair and get over the plot, faggot.

He meant Adele.

Anyway, don't discuss or read about anything you want spoiled. Period. It's the only way to be safe to experience a story the way the author intended these days.

Everything /lit/ reads is either:

a) venerable as fuck so either the ending is well-known or irrelevant
b) hipster garbage and juvenile YA fiction like American Psycho so either the ending is well-known or irrelevant

Adele is British.

Point he was making is that knowing the plot doesn't ruin the book whatsoever unless you're reading something vapid such as Twilight, which is a hambeast favourite.

You can't even comprehend 4chan posts, get your shit together faggot.

I know what he was saying. I didn't adress it because he was so very wrong that I didn't think I would need to. Knowing the plot twists and endings beforehand prevents you from experiencing them fully and removes the element of surprise. Yes you can analyze and enjoy a work on a more critical level despite having it "spoiled", but you lose a large part of the experience of reading a story. In works where the plot is of major concern or in less "deep" stories where the plot is the MAIN concern, spoilers can ruin the best part of the experience.

Yeah. I posted about Dorian Gray while I was reading at and someone spoiled the ending. Luckily, they weren't very specific, so I still enjoyed it. I now wait until I finish a book to talk about it on /lit/

No, I don't. I rarely see books I like being discussed here, so it doesn't bother me.

She's so fucking terrible that it deserves mention. Is that so bad?

It is?

Still not as bad as Adele.

How is 'spoiling' trolling? If you're discussing something, it's assumed you are actually capable of discussing it, having read it.

What are you, teens?

What I posted was an argument. This post is not.

>How is 'spoiling' trolling?
It's not. It's spoiling. It's a dick move if you do it intentionally, especially on a board with spoiler tags.
>If you're discussing something, it's assumed you are actually capable of discussing it, having read it.
I agree.
>What are you, teens?
Most of us, yeah. I'm not, but... this is 4chan. You know that, right?

countless surveys have been done, broheim. there are a lot of 22-23 year olds here, too.

i think the americans are mostly teens, though.
