So I finished this trilogy awhile back, loved the shit out of it. I wanted to get the opinions of /lit/ on what they thought of it. Also, if I liked this what other book series would you guys recommend?

I started reading this because of Brandon's contribution to the Wheel of Time series.

Nothing? Never posted on /lit/ before, you guys might just be very slow

no worries bro, probly just reading other lit

I liked them. They're decent fantasy books. Check out the Alloy of Law if you haven't, set in the same setting, 300 years later. And yes, /lit/ is a slower board than most of the others.

gotcha. yeah I was considering that. I heard they use the last two metals that had not been discussed in the first 3 books.

also I loved who became god. just so perfect. I was not expecting it either, for at least the first 3/4 of the book so I give kudos for tricking me

Look up Robin Hobb, she's pretty good. If you liked the Mistborn books, I'm sure you'll like her novels.

They were okay. The magic system was pretty neat, but otherwise I didn't think they were all that remarkable. I too read them after hearing of Sanderson's involvement with the WoT.

I will check that out, thanks anon.

also, anyone have favorite characters?
personally, I liked ten soon, and I was sad that Vin was not able to see him again before he died

I think I liked Tensoon and Spook the best.
I really enjoyed the series as I was reading it, but afterwards, when found out how big a Christfag Sanderson is, I found a lot of the plot points really preachy. Also, he's okay at fight/war scenes, but he includes far too many of them.

which plot points?
I mean one of the main characters pretty much becomes an atheist for a long time, after he had been preaching all kinds of other religions. I did not feel like there was much preaching at the reader going on.

You should check out Elantris, OP. It's by Sanderson and it's fantastic.
