Gabo said that he writes like how his grandmother used to tell him stories. Add in all the weird magical realism symbolic stuff and the non-linear story and it's kinda confusing. It's quite unlike any other books I've read.

Literally couldn't read Autumn Of The Patriarch. It was beautiful but those page-long sentences, they killed me, I've read nearly everything else Marquez has written.
