What's worth writing about if you're not writing about dwarfs and aliens?

The real world is boring, you fags.

But seriously, please suggest some realistic authors someone who likes sci-fi and fantasy can transition into. I quite like Flannery O'connor because her work is realistic with certain exaggerations.

Have a nice day.

Eldar from Warhammer 40k. Why do you ask?

It just seems so obvious. Isn't Warhammer 40k like DnD?

I think it's not done more, at least in a literarily fulfilling way, since the fashion is now to have a mysterious other rather than races.

Why, whatever do you mean, OP?

You can't possibly be suggesting anything other than XVIII to early XX century bourgeoisie could possibly be worth writing about, certainly.

op, you ought to check out eudora welty. another great southern female writer.

flannery o'connor is easily in my top five favorites if not top three.

also check out raymond carver. his characters aren't as hardcore as o'connor's stuff but they're still interesting.
