>writing a novel

Are you doing this?

>> No.2475222

No. I would love to. But it's harder to get published than to enter medical school.

>> No.2475225

Yes.

The process is draining as fuck and kicks my ass most days.

They're both meritocracies, though. Write a great novel, and someone will publish it. You might be dead from suicide first, but it will happen.

I'm writing a political treatise that combines elements of a novel.

I know that feeling.

Honestly it is very discouraging.

>> No.2475239

Yes, but it's an on and off kinda thing. My schedule is atrocious. One of the most important things in the process of writing is that you establish a routine, and you follow that routine rigorously
and unfailingly. Of course, that's much easier said than done, and platitudes will not write your book for you.

Over the summer I'm going to set my alarm for 7 each morning and write until noon. If I can't do that, I will never be a write.

Gotta read fast.

>> No.2475268

Yes, I do.

>> No.2475292

yes

Wow, dude, you stole my idea! I was already writing that!

Sounds hard. Why not work your way up to 5hours per day. If you fail at it to beg with you may put yourself through unnecessary hell.
