that would be an internal agon, with kenosis allowing for the final break.

Bloom is full of shit I never understood why people hold him at such a high regard. He calls him self a elitist and thinks it is a good thing. His prose are so weighed down with big words that he could truly never grasp the poetic language his beloved authors showcase.

sorry i don't reach up to the high standards of "He calls him self a elitist... His prose are so weighed down..." also seriously that's a really dumb opinion and if you don't at least get that, for all his dumb shit, bloom really really fucking loves the books he's talking about, i don't even know

He does call himself a elitist though. I know he legitimately loves books. He read nearly all of the libraries in his area as a kid ,but he is still a dick that thinks that he is better than others. I read his essays on plays and I thought they were very informative ,but his writing is stiff. I might have read some earlier stuff or something ,but from what I remember his prose were pretty bad.
I can't say that his ideas on literature is bad ,but I could say that he is a elitist.

Is "elitist" necessarily a dirty word? Can't we forgive the man some flaws in his character? No one is perfect. Even if he is a dick, that does not, in fact, in itself, mean that he is wrong or that his writing is valueless or bad.

Also wanted to add to my post here, I am on his side against young adult fiction.

I believe elitist is not a dirty word ,but it is a very scolding thing to say to someone. I said his writing has value in the post you quoted by the way.

I'm glad I've convinced you round into seeing why people take him seriously, then!
