I want a huge library with a fuckton of books but i am fucking poor and all i can do is flipping burgers and sucking cocks to finance my shithole flat thats full of mold

>> No.24099950

Thankfully it is more profitable to collect a few infinitely re-readable books. pic rel for example you can get for less than $15.

The only book that matters is you.

I don't recommend it but one way you can do this is by buying 2nd hand books at charity shops
The best ones are those run by churches

why would anyone want to lock war? doesn't make sense? was cold war locked? if yes, why don't we use term coldwarlock?

>> No.24100134

Do you want a library or do you want to read? Because libraries exist and you can use them. There are also used book stores, most classics can be found for fifty cents or cheaper in the right spot, and then the hunt becomes part of the fun. Sorry to hear about your situation and wish you all the best.

Might as well when (and if) I have the money...
I've heard that the color e-ink ones are shit but they seem the most appealing.

look for discards at libraries. My local one does them sometimes, 20c per book. Free, when I found a library in Sydney doing it.

I had to move recently and I was seriously tempted to ditch my books they're such a fucking pain. I hate reading on a screen though, it is so different to reading a physical book I really can't get into it

this is the answer OP. God bless my 10 year old Kobo GLO still works perfect with all the books inside.

also I have my own archive in external hdd's. Thinking about migrating to something more futureproof.

I'm also a poor faggot. Even jobless.

A small personal library of absolute re-read essentials is the best. All that secondary literature is in one eye out the other-- and that's what most of your maximalist personal library will be. Let the libraries house that shit (and move closer to one).

Man I don't want to bother with going to the library, checking whether a book is available, going back to pick it up, reading it within the timeframe, and then returning it
By contrast I can click a book on Amazon and it will be at my house tomorrow
