there have been three episodes on the simpsons this season mentioning literature. the new writers are confirmed for hipsters.

>the book job
>the valentines episode where lisa meets an intellectual who is 'hemmingway-esque'
>in the political episode where homer is given right to a spot as a host on tv, they are travelling and their suitcase is 2 kg overweight.

bart: lisa, did you really have to bring all those kurt vonnegut books?
lisa: but they self-reference eachother!!

this is what your literature amounts to. no one cares, basically.

just one of the many problems plaguing that show. just end it. it's like watching the nursing home abuse a senile loved one.

I stay within the fold where I'm appreciated. Enveloped by the love and adoration of like-minded peoples. I do not associate with the "normals". They are filthy, disgusting and ignorant beasts. I like it this way.

Enjoy your network television and Pringles and Nike shoes and whatever else it is that you're into.

It's just Family Guy with yellow people now. I watched an episode where Homer, out of nowhere, and seemingly for no purpose, just decided to walk up a wall and dance on the ceiling, like in that Lionel Ritchie video from the 80's.

the current state of society is what has taken a toll on the simpsons. they have always been attune to the underpinnings of culture, and cynicism is fashionable now. the simpsons suck because we hate ourselves more than we ever have. personally, i blame the progression of technology and the predominance of social networking. but thats just me guise

not 3 compacted into a single season. mind you i haven't even watched this entire season so there could be more lurking that i am unaware of. the tone they use is maliciously sarcastic, also. there is an alternative motive this time, beyond parodying what they are referencing explicitly
