Chad worship and a lot of "trad" stuff is just replacing a worship of consumption and sex with a worship of honor and status (but this is normally taken to also imply high levels of consumption and sex).

It's a benefit, in that it involves realizing that one has become a "Last Man" (more as Fukuyama uses the term than Nietzsche), and a move to the desires of the spirited part of the soul (the passions; honor, rage, indignation, etc.) as opposed to mere appetite. But it doesn't involve anything higher, not even towards the mere pursuit of what is truly good. The memes might be medieval but the patterns of thought remain decidedly post-modern and so "ironic" and stunted.

And so the turn to "tradition" ends up being little more than watching modern trad YouTubers, working out in some air conditioned gym, consooming from a new constellation of products, watching 300, and looking at a new constellation of memes. Actually reading the ancients and medievals? Actually seeing how they considered the good or how it can help us—the modern translators like Alasdair MacIntyre or CS Lewis? Nope.

The hero is not the saint but the man led by passion to pursue his own egoistic prerogatives with greater vigor, or the collectivist who can only define the good for "his" group in terms of struggle with another for consumption.
