Yep. I have a 4 bank Oliveti typewriter. I've had and used it for years. It's magnificent. Really, it's the only material possession I have that I wouldn't part with.

I got a typewriter recently, fixed up and all, same model as Hemingway's.. yeah, me and it don't get along much yet. The noise doesn't bother me, but if you don't push on those keys hard enough you can't see the damn letter (at least on mine,.. the ribbon is supposed to be new and all). Dunno, the sounds are sort of charming at least and it's beautiful to look at.

Why not get a cheap laptop and uninstall everything on it except a word processor, and fill the desktop with shortcuts to said processor.
