Florida and I'm going to claim Emerson even though he wasn't raised here, wasn't educated here, and I doubt he wrote anything here.... Fuck that other writer that moved to key west. I don't even remember their name, but fuck them they're retarded.

NC, literally the only author of note. Fitzgerald lived here a couple years too, but I don't think he counts.

Probly Philip Roth
I don’t think we can claim Fitzgerald though he did go to college here.
William Carlos Williams I guess
I always thought our claims to Walt Whitman were pretty dubious too

I realise this is a Yank thread right now, but I'll post anyways. Robert Graves is the only notable writer from where I live (Wimbledon). I could say Raymond Briggs too but he's more /co/ than /lit/.
Though I was just looking through wikipedia and apparently Steve-O was born here, for some reason.

Honestly you can completely understand his worldview if you've lived in Detroit long enough.

Unironically the most prolific writer from my city. Oh well, at least we produced Panic at the Disco, Five Finger Death Punch, and Imagine Dragons.

>> No.23524590

I think I might be the only writer from my home city who is at all know outside the immediate area, not that this means anything, the competition is thin. For the state, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis and Robert Bly are the big ones. I would got with Lewis, Fitzgerald mostly gave up midwestern status even if it did inform his writing. Bly is decent but I am not big on poetry. Laura Ingalls Wilder gets a nod but her writing is kind of thin.
