Half way through this book. What does /lit/ think of it? Thoroughly enjoying it thus far.

Any similar recommendations?

I really like this book but it ended so abruptly, and i don't know if I'm going to read the next book.
I liked every-bodies individual stories.

Hope you've already got a copy of Fall of Hyperion, bro.

The sequels are even better.

I enjoyed Hyperion but I couldn't get into the sequel, hope this helps.

I loved it, but I couldn't bring myself to read the sequel(s). I loved the Canterbury Tales style of storytelling and I actually didn't mind the way it ended. I've always regretted watching the second two Matrix movies and I've always been too scared to ruin Hyperion the same way.

I swear the sequel is even better than the first book.

Nah. I tried reading them a long, long time ago, but I remember it sort of felt like Shrike fanfiction. Anyway, I liked the framing narrative of the first one and the sequel was just too bland.

I second this. Absolutely loved every minute of the first, couldn't get into the next. It's on a shelf somewhere with a bookmark in it, maybe I'll get back to it eventually...

Priest's story was by far the best.

Fall of Hyperion was thoroughly enjoyable, though not on the same caliber as Hyperion.
Loved the concepts and the cyberpunk-qualities and stuff, but missed the Canterbury structure of the first one and hoped that Fall would have had some kind of interesting plot structure as well.

It was pretty good. Probably the second best behind the Poet's Tale IMO. The Soldier's Tale is the worst.
