Thoughts on Madame Bovary? Just finished, and I didn't like it, to be honest. Maybe it's because it reminds me of /r9k/-style misogyny so much?

Is that so? We got it as obligatory essay material reading, so I was kind of forced into reading it. At least the second piece is The Overcoat, which was delightful, IMO.

I had to read it in high school and I couldn't finish it. Perhaps I was too young but I found it completely boring.
