Why haven't you taken the kindle + libgen pill?

Based. But I usually buy physical copies of books that I’d like to reread or reference again at some point.

then you lose chapters and other formatting

you're supposed to read one page and then go directly to the next page until you reach the end, what the fuck do you need formatting for

Ohh, that’s gay. I dunno how true this is but I’ve heard Kindle Scribe works better with PDFs. But it’s too many NEET bucks for me.

Non-fiction contains a lot of footnotes, good luck reading those without highlights and having to navigate to the end of the file and back.

>> No.23405583

Also this is more minor, but the length of pages left in a chapter is a nice-to-have feature of Epubs because then then you can schedule your time for reading so you don't stop in the middle of a chapter (you should be reading a chapter in one sitting and use chapter breaks as stopping points).
If I can get a book in Epub I'll go for it, I'll only accept pdf conversions if its absolutely necessary.

I don't understand why people like you and OP are mentally inept and don't research things obsessively before you waste money. You're no different than normalfag redditors

In 2024 AD, you can purchase: https://fujitsuquaderno.com/product/fujitsu-quaderno-a4-2nd-gen/

If you're in the past circa 2014 to 2020, you can get a Sony DPS

If you're really in the past circa 2010 you can get the Irex DR1000

PDF capable ereaders have existed. I find it interesting people just turn into turbocope mode and pretend they don't exist and then seethe when they're brought to their attention and further cope that their shitty format or device is good enough. If you really didn't know about them, shame on you for not researching like a consoomer redditor and going WELLL UHHH THE POPULAR CHOICES ARE LETS SEE THE KOBO, DA KINDLE AND UHHH A NOOK. DIS ONE HAS 4.5 STARS AND REDDIT SAYS ITS GOOD *CLICK BUY* You deserve to suffer with your shit device and shit format unless you finally admit it is shit and move to the big boy e-reader club. I have more respect for ipad readers than you.

>waaaah it's expensive
It's called don't by the shitty cope device that's overpriced anyways and save your money and deal with not having anything for a few weeks, a month, or a year. If you really liked reading you wouldn't have done anything. I made minimum wage and bought one for $800.

Ease is the only argument for a kindle because of muh virtual store and if you are pirating that excludes the ease and replaces it with even more work thus defeating the one legimate reason some people own one.
>>23405529
>>23405541
Conversion doesn't work and messes with formatting. OCR botches words, throws in notes in the wrong places, ruins paragraphs. Its a lot of work for a bad outcome.
>>23405692
Epubs and mobi are shit formats even if you buy them it's just poorly OCRd content by people making minimum wage. Numerous instances entire paragraphs cut out and you wouldn't notice it because you have no frame of reference with simple(ton) text formats. PDF mogs epub because it's a facsimile of the actual book with pages 1:1 appearing exactly how they are printed.
