>orphan raised by abusive relatives
>starved, forced to do the chores and left to sleep in a fucking cupboard
>person who left him in there never once bothered to check on him
>same person raised him to eventually kill himself
>same person forced him to return to his abusive relatives every single summer
>same person got his last remaining family killed by sheer neglect
>same person refuses to teach him anything useful despite being in mortal danger every single fucking year
>best friend is a jealous midwit who keeps betraying him
>other best friend is an insufferable nosy nerd who told his future wife to ride the cock carousel while waiting for him
>wife is the school bike and a coalburner who only likes him for his fame
Why did JKR do him like this?
Also why did he have to end with the mudshark, working a boring office job, instead of being a pro quidditch player and married to Gabrielle or her older sister?

Is JK Rowling a closet transman? I hope not... the trannies would have a field day with that one

>female author
>male protagonist
If you can't think of dozens of examples off the top of your head you're not trying. You need to be more specific. e.g. Female author / male protagonist / first-person. Easy to think of light (genre) examples:
— My Side Of The Mountain
— The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd
— The House On The Strand
but harder to find heavyweight ones.
— Wuthering Heights
— Ethan Frome
don't really count because the male narrator is just a frame story.
— The Professor (Charlotte Bronte)
is one I suppose.
