I'm not lefty/pol/, anon. I support Israel's right to defend itself which means I'm not a chud either. However, it's been a longstanding pattern that Hamas or Hezbollah or the PLA does something relatively minor and Israel goes full nuclear on them. The Gaza war is by far the most extreme example of this and it's somewhat surprising no one references the pattern.
