The Calvinism of the founding Anglo-Americans and Dutch-American colonists and the secularized Anglicanism of the Founding Fathers are the foundation of the United States of America. America is founded on the rejection of the Catholic Church, the rejection of atheism, the rejection of ochlocracy, aristocracy, science, and thrift, all of which originated from the Reformed confessions.
Jefferson's rejection of classical metaphysics for a strictly secular, scientific system depends on the war the Reformed waged against the Catholic Church.
Anyone who lives in America should thank their local Dutch Reformed church.
