In your fear of creating something normal and unimpressive you stare at the blank canvas of life long enough and you wait until all the paint dries up, and your heart stops loving life, the fire in your soul turns into ash, your flesh turns into bones and your dreams and thoughts fade into oblivion

Old bureaucrat, my comrade, it is not you who are to blame. No one ever helped you to escape.
You, like a termite, built your peace by blocking up with cement every chink and cranny through
which the light might pierce. You rolled yourself up into a ball in your genteel security, in routine,
in the stifling conventions of provincial life, raising a modest rampart against the winds and the
tides and the stars. You have chosen not to be perturbed by great problems, having trouble enough
to forget your own fate as man. You are not the dweller upon an errant planet and do not ask
yourself questions to which there are no answers. You are a petty bourgeois of Toulouse. Nobody
grasped you by the shoulder while there was still time. Now the clay of which you were shaped
has dried and hardened, and naught in you will ever awaken the sleeping musician, the poet, the
astronomer that possibly inhabited you in the beginning

truly fear has blocked so many young writers I knew in my 20s from writing. The ones who are consistently publishing in their 30s are those who either broke through the fear and kept writing, or who never were afraid in the first place and just wrote.
If you want to be a writer, write every day.

We are both beings of destruction you and I. We were never meant long for this world. With us all that shall come is death, from the stars we were born and from there we shall return. Our mothers nursing sons who were never to bring good. Our brothers die for us yet we would never do the same. We cannot create, only pervert and destroy. Our souls are blackened by the ashes of the earth.

embrace destruction. smear ashes upon yourself. smile with joy as the world burns. God put agents of destruction like me upon this world for good reason. Come, follow me brother, and embrace the furies in their wrathful dance. Take Kali as your wife and come dance upon corpses with me and her and all our congregation. Come, and sing warchants with valkyries as we rip apart entrails and make blood banners from the flesh of men. Come, come.

Everybody seeks love really and not destruction. It's just that without love you default to destruction. This world is weird like that.

I like the plain language. Sure, OP could have substituted flashier verbs, decays, blackens, etc. But the more we speak in concrete, unembellished words, the harder they hit.

I've always been rational and a critical thinker with deep-rooted principles that I don't compromise on. So, I've always been completely insane. However, I've been insane for so long, I've adapted to it.

Some chick chopped her finger off at work a few weeks ago and blood was squirting everywhere. Everyone was running around panicking and screaming. I was the only person that was calm and took my time. I grabbed her hand, cleaned it and wrapped it, then gave her ti the paramedics when they showed up. Then I cleaned up her blood with bleach and paper towels.

I literally felt nothing. No adrenaline rush, no stress, nothing. It's over for my mind.

Is this what the kids are talking about with their Stoicism mindsets?
