What are you reading? I'm reading Ernst Cassirer until I pass out at 3:30AM

Do you actually know the time at which you will pass out down to the minute or are you being figurative?

I am reading the letters of Sherwood Anderson and a collection of Breece D'J Pancake.

Lets hear some insights, bro.

I: am gettin drunk and editing a magazine anthology of some /lit/ writing. (btw fuck &amp) Reading: random shit online between edits.

Still got a bunch of writing edits to do on this piece but I've spent the last hour (two hours) tweaking layouts instead. Coworker of mine gave me some good ideas today (just emailed him three design iterations hoping for more suggestions). Feeling grateful for my homies.

Listening to some weird NiN-meets-Brave-Little-Abacus EP that I like a lot.

I am watching RuneScape videos, then I will be studying Spanish. I'm too much of a retard for learning languages, but damn will I try anyways.

Snowden's Permanent Record. I thought it was going to reveal deep state secrets but it seems kinda goofy so far.

I don’t like Cassirer. Totally put off by his anti Nazi shit.

I can’t help but feel his work is just to spite Nazis and therefore I can’t help but dismiss it.

I’m not even pro Nazi but it annoys me when academics happen to have their life work turn out to be exactly what’s needed to counter their political enemies

You reading Language & Myth? That’s his most famous one. It’s on my reading list. I have two secondary sources on him and that single one as a primary source. I just finished reading picrel and I’m amazed at how merchants uprooted people from the countryside when two centuries prior they were treated as a worthless vagabonds that the church hated.

He’s continental for sure but his Kantianism binds him a bit to the Anglo tradition which is probably why he was like that.

That being said, it wouldn’t stop me from reading him and a lot of my writing is probably motivated by spite as well, if we’re gonna be honest. Despite what Nietzsche affirmed almost every thinker is motivated towards the unmaking of something else.

Reading this. About 80 pages in.
It’s mostly him ranting about how much better France is than the US
Nazis just chased him out of France then Greece
He seems like a bit of a boomer so far
