I've written three books. They're not good, but they're 125,000 words each. I want to keep writing, but I seriously worry that AI can just do it better than me.

>Skill Issue
But be real, when a computer can copy any style to produce a book in seconds, what will we do?

>It'll be in the future
The future will be here eventually.

I have to assume you enjoyed the experience, anon. Keep writing if it’s fun and stop when it ceases to be. Don’t worry about our inevitable robot overlords

Do you want a cheap developmental editor? No matter how bad it is, we can probably get it published

>AI can do it better than you
AI can't write anything that would offend a corporation's hypersensitive audience. You're going to be fine.

have you tried? it doesn't come close to being able to write a story. however you can use it to endlessly tweak and edit, and it does that well.

why are you worrying about what future ais might do instead of the very present problem of your writing not being good? if i wrote 375k words and was still shit at it i would be thinking long and hard about myself, not robots. it seems like "ai might replace me" is ultimately an easier thing for people to think about that "i am a stupid bore with no talent," so that's where their coping mind wanders

it takes more than 375k words to be a good writer.

i disagree, but that's beside the point; it's certainly enough to get a good idea if you're ever going to be one. worrying about ais is the fake problem du jour people use to dodge work or honest self-assessment, if chatgpt didn't exist they would be going "why even write when woke trannies will soon ban everything but poc victimhood stories" or whatever.

It's a big elephant, bro.
But you ain't gonna eat it staring at it.

For a long time that was a big worry but thankfully even the corpos that supported that nonsense are remembering that they want to make money.
