Best religious scripture books? Read the Bible, a few bits of Quran. I heard that the Ramayana and Mahabharata are cool. They have a bunch of Buddhist books at the local library.

The Upanishads
The Bhagavad Gita

The Mahabharata (which contains the Bhagavad Gita) is an amazing and very unique story, definitely worth a read. Not considered a scripture but rather an Epic in the same sense as the Illiad / Odyssey.
