You're not funny. You're a fucking loser memer with no friends. Have fun being a virgin for the rest of your life. That's what you thought.

You thought they were decent novels with interesting worldbuilding and philosophy. However you also thought they were hugely overrated by pretentious fanboys who haven't read much other sci-fi. You thought the first Dune book was the best even though you felt the beginning dragged on way too long. Dune messiah was short but decent. Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune started out great but dragged on way too long. You're open to reading the Brian books even if they aren't really anything like the original series because they look like fun space adventures and offer some form of closure to the series even if the ending isn't as good as it could be. You aren't really looking forward to Dune 3 unless it shows more of the Jihad, which was mostly skipped over in messiah.

>Just finished the big 6 Dune books
You mean the only six Dune books.

>Should I read the books by Brian?
Avoid at all costs, he has yet to write a book worth reading.

You'll like the machine crusade if you like a fun little YA trilogy. It's basically fanfic, but I remember enjoying it at ~15

if you're into the world and less of herbert's writing style hunters of dune and sandworms of dune may be enjoyable reads as continuations of where chapterhouse left off.

Just Butlerian Sneedhad and the last Duology allegedly capstoning Herbert's ideas/outline for completing Dune.

I called it quits halfway through Heretics, the mind control sex stuff got too weird for me and it was starting to feel like a slog. Is chapterhouse any better?

The best science fiction is by Michael Chrichton, who writes "hard" science fiction. I'd highly recommend Sphere with as little information as possible. Genuine master piece.
