The greatest writer of English prose is actually Thomas Browne. Know that when you try to troll, you reveal your actual paucity of knowledge by your selections. Conrad's language is laboured (though admittedly a great achievement), Nabokov's is dazzling but second-rate and Brodsky isn't even worth mentioning. People would rightfully tell me I’ll never have the ability or nuance that a native speaker of Chinese has. And yet if some ESL retard migrates to a western country, they genuinely believe this. Personally, my belief is that this happens because western countries are so accommodating and diffident when it comes to immigrants. There’s basically no serious criticism allowed of them. This explains why people like Walden have delusion regarding their own linguistic abilities.

In about two millennia of writing, you can only point out a handful of masterpieces that were written in a language other than the author’s native language. ESLs love to drag out Nabokov, who wasn’t a true ESL and came from a wealthy family who could pay for tutoring. There’s Conrad, sure, but you’re no Conrad.
